Exotic wood and contemporary lines in the heart of Luxembourg

In the heart of Luxembourg City’s Gare district, this outdoor space was redesigned to combine aesthetics and functionality. In collaboration with the Fernand Krier architecture firm and architect Mr Arthur Hagry, La Parqueterie created two complementary features: a Cumaru Blondo deck and a Unijoint Teak privacy screen designed to conceal the technical equipment.

A Cumaru Blondo deck

Covering an area of 29.90 m², the deck was built using Cumaru Blondo, a dense and naturally durable exotic hardwood.

To ensure stability and adapt to the existing surface, our teams built a double cross-laid solid Padouk substructure, levelled on adjustable pedestals.

The boards were then installed using the Softline® invisible fastening system, creating a clean finish with no visible screws.

A Teak privacy screen to conceal technical equipment

Extending from the deck, an 11.17 m² privacy screen was designed to conceal the air-conditioning units while maintaining the overall harmony of the outdoor space.

Standing 2 metres high, it consists of two panels and incorporates a discreet access door with a key lock, providing easy access to the technical area.

The structure is supported by solid Padouk posts, while the Vetedy Unijoint Teak cladding is installed using the Techniclic® invisible fastening system.

When technical solutions become part of the architecture

More than just a privacy screen, the structure becomes an architectural feature in its own right. It defines the space, provides privacy and conceals technical equipment, while blending naturally with the deck.

The combination of Cumaru Blondo, Teak and Padouk creates a warm, contemporary result, carefully considered down to the smallest detail.
